Emily R.

Emily was introduced to RowZone by a friend and after taking 2 classes was hooked.  Little did we know that a new trainer was in the making.
 
Emily rowed Division 1 at Bucknell and now takes any chance she can to get back out on the water. Emily finished her doctorate in Physical Therapy at Drexel and currently work as an outpatient physical therapist with a focus in sports medicine.
 
Emily enjoys helping people achieve their goals and believes exercise is as good for your mind as it is for your body.   Emily looks forward to bringing her personal love of rowing and variety workouts to instruct fun and challenging classes!

Laura F

Laura is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor with more than 20 years experience in the Fitness Industry. Laura is best known for her ability to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging workouts (for beginners to fitness addicts) that incorporate all the necessary elements for a great physical workout.  Laura provides workout programs that engage, motivate and empower clients; helping them to achieve a sense of well-being that will encompass the mental, physical and emotional.
In an article in the Best of Philly magazine (2009), William Rush wrote that Laura’s Power Pump Rowing Class was “the killer arm workout that we were hoping for, but the twists and turns Laura threw in with the basic strokes got our abs, too.” In the “Do it or Ditch It” portion of the article, Rush recommended, “Do it. Laura kicked our butts. The erg/mat workout was fun and kept us motivated throughout class, and three days later we were still feeling it.”

Anthony F

Anthony is a co-owner at Manayunk and is a Drexel University graduate. He was a four year member of the varsity rowing program and served as co-captain. He was named to the Philadelphia Academic All-Area team three times and helped lead the Dragons to multiple first place finishes in the Frostbite, Bill Braxton, Kerr Cup, and Head of the Schuylkill regattas. Currently, he is an assistant coach for the Haddon Township High School rowing program and has helped coach young athletes to podium finishes in the Manny Flick series, Cooper Cup, Stotesbury Cup, and Scholastic National regattas. Anthony teaches group and individual erg development sessions. Sessions are specialized for improving 2k erg scores for high school and collegiate level athletes. Gary B

Gary has been a member of RowZone since June 2012. The minute he finished his first class, he knew he was hooked. He has lost over 20lbs since he started and has taken more than 4 inches off of his midsection. He has been so motivated by the transformation of not only his body, but his mind, as well. So much so, that he became a certified personal trainer, as well as CPR certified for the sole purpose of becoming an instructor at Row Zone. He has a passion and enthusiasm for Row Zone because he knows what it has done for him and is excited to seeing what it can do for others.

Carol H

Carol joins the RowZone Team as a Certified Fitness Instructor and has competed in many different types of competitions including triathlon, half marathon, Tough Mudder, Spartan and Crossfit competitions.
 
Carol believes that working out makes daily life more enjoyable and improves your quality of life.  Carol looks forward to bringing that energy to her classes by making each and every workout interesting and challenging to keep you on track with your own health and wellness goals. 

Carol's hope is to have you leave her classes feeling stronger and more confident than every before!

 

 

Chris R

Chris Roberts joins the RowZone team with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Temple University and is applying to grad school for physical therapy.
 
Chris started his love for rowing and fitness as a non athletic and slightly overweight 14 year when he picked up rowing at Roman Catholic High School for Boys. He fell in love with the sport and fitness and lost 20 pounds his first year of rowing. Chris continued the sport as a student at Temple as well.
 
Chris helps coach rowing at both Roman and Temple and has wealth of knowledge about technique on the erg and in the boat. He has a number of metals, including a silver and bronze from the Dad Vails and a Gold Medal at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the largest high school rowing event in the world.
 
Chris has aspirations to try out for the US national lightweight team, and his best 2k score as a lightweight was 6:32. He enjoys high intensity interval and lifting free weights to workout, so he is not only the perfect RowZone client, but the perfect RowZone trainer!
