Petar Ivacic

Petar was born in Belgrade, Serbia and began rowing when he was 12 years old. He is currently a full time student at Temple University studying civil engineering as well as a member of the Temple University rowing team. While at Temple, Petar has received two bronze medals at the Dad Vail Regatta. In Serbia he was a member of the Serbian Rowing Federation, captured five gold medals at Serbian National Rowing Championship, and has won numerous other regattas. Also, Petar is a certified fitness instructor.

Mike Golden

Mike was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. He attended Saint Ignatius College Prep for high school and earned varsity letters in football and rowing. While at St. Ignatius, he has been coached by Tom O' Connell who was named Coach of the Year in 2006 by Vespoli, won Nationals and Henley on Thames in England, and earned three medals for rowing at regional championships. Through football weightlifting workouts he became interested in personal training. At the age of 16 years old he worked at weightlifting camps as a personal trainer. Currently, Mike is a junior at Drexel University studying psychology. Over the past two years at Drexel his boat finished 5th at Dad Vails and 2nd place at Kerr Cup his freshmen year. Sophomore year he rowed two seat in the JV8+ that won gold and claimed the Ernie Bayer Trophy at Vails. He has a strong work ethic on and off the water that translates into his classes at RowZone.

Dani Thole

Born and raised in Northern California, Dani attended Sacramento State University, where she first became involved in rowing. She rowed for four years as a Division 1, scholarship athlete and fell in love with the sport. After spending a year coaching at Sacramento State, she decided to move to Philadelphia to pursue a career in coaching. She is currently in her second year with the Radnor Girls Crew Club, coaching the Freshman. Last year, her Freshman received first place at the Philadelphia City Championships and second place at the Stotesbury Regatta. She has been with RowZone since March, 2011 at the Rittenhouse and Manayunk locations.

Brynn M

Brynn rowed in high school for Archbishop Prendergast from 2002 to 2006 and at Temple University from 2007 to 2011 where she was team captain and named to the Atlantic 10 First Team All Conference. In May 2011, Brynn graduated with a BS in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology and she obtained her Personal Training Certification from ACE in March 2011 and TRX Certification in February 2012. She also rowed with Undine Barge Club and Vesper Boat Club at different points in her career.

Matt S

Growing up in a home where physical fitness was a priority, Matt started in sports at a young age. After completing High school, deciding he wanted to be challenged he joined the Marines. Upon completion of his military time he began to pursue his desire of becoming a Personal Trainer, and has been training in the Philadelphia area ever since. Matt has been training in the Center City area for near 5 years now, training all types of clients to achieve all types of goals. He is a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal trainer and has had extensive training on the ROWZONE system. As well as having training in performance enhancement, he also Instructs Martial Arts classes. Matt believes that maintaining longevity is key in achieving any fitness goal.

Gena Scoleri

Gena joined RowZone Rittenhouse as a member on November 1, 2008. Finally finding a workout she loved, and with the motivation of her upcoming wedding, she attended class most weeks 4-5 times a week. As RowZone grew, so did Gena's love for it, its trainers, and its community. She longed to be more involved. She started by helping with the move from 1900 Chestnut and helping with the phone calls. A few months later, Michele started Gena as a trainer in Newtown Square. Currently, Gena is thrilled to be training at RowZone Rittenhouse; she is a student at The Community College of Philadelphia, an administrative assistant at a travel agency specializing in group cruises, and a professional makeup artist. She is CPR certified and holds a personal trainer certification by the International Fitness Association.

Greg P

Greg is a former and current student of biology and functional anatomy. His training style is a successful blend of well-founded science as well as an intuitive and holistic approach to fitness, nutrition, and wellness. Greg is very interested in performance and power development for both the layperson and the athlete. His specialties include hip mobility, lower back health, functional strength, cross training, and body weight exercise. Although not a rower, he has rowed concept 2 personal bests of 1:23.7 on the 500m row and 6:49 on the 2,000m row. Don't be surprised if you learn something new during every training session with Greg!

Laura F

Laura is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor with more than 20 years experience in the Fitness Industry. Laura is best known for her ability to develop and deliver highly effective and engaging workouts (for beginners to fitness addicts) that incorporate all the necessary elements for a great physical workout.  Laura provides workout programs that engage, motivate and empower clients; helping them to achieve a sense of well-being that will encompass the mental, physical and emotional.
In an article in the Best of Philly magazine (2009), William Rush wrote that Laura’s Power Pump Rowing Class was “the killer arm workout that we were hoping for, but the twists and turns Laura threw in with the basic strokes got our abs, too.” In the “Do it or Ditch It” portion of the article, Rush recommended, “Do it. Laura kicked our butts. The erg/mat workout was fun and kept us motivated throughout class, and three days later we were still feeling it.”

Jess E

Jess studied Exercise Science at Old Dominion University and is NASM and N.C.C.P.T. Certified Personal Trainer.  Jess has a strong knowledge in anatomy and exercise physiology and looks forward to ensuring clients remain motivated and attain their personal fitness goals with the RowZone workout.

Karen H

Karen has her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from University of Delaware and her Master of Arts International Service from University of Roehampton in London, UK. Her Thesis Topic: Development through Sports. 

Karen rowed for the Women's Varsity Rowing Team for all 4 years at the University of Delaware and is on the USA Women's Premier Dragon Boat Team to compete in 2013 World Championships in Hungary in July.

Jason B

Jason is a coach at heart, who truly enjoys sharing his passion of rowing to all of RowZone's clients. As a former division 1 athlete as a rower from Temple University & from countless hours coaching at the high school level; Jason understands the importance of conditioning & proper technique. Jason's rowing sessions are jam packed with energy, motivation and of course an incentive to sweat. Jason has his Master of Science in Exercise Science - California University of Pennsylvania; Rowing Instructor- Level 2 Certified Coach US Rowing; Certified Indoor Rowing Instructor - Concept II; Performance Enhancement Specialist- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Specialist in Speed and Explosion for Sports Competition(NASE).

Chris R

Chris Roberts joins the RowZone team with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Temple University and is applying to grad school for physical therapy.
Chris started his love for rowing and fitness as a non athletic and slightly overweight 14 year when he picked up rowing at Roman Catholic High School for Boys. He fell in love with the sport and fitness and lost 20 pounds his first year of rowing. Chris continued the sport as a student at Temple as well.
Chris helps coach rowing at both Roman and Temple and has wealth of knowledge about technique on the erg and in the boat. He has a number of metals, including a silver and bronze from the Dad Vails and a Gold Medal at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, the largest high school rowing event in the world.
Chris has aspirations to try out for the US national lightweight team, and his best 2k score as a lightweight was 6:32. He enjoys high intensity interval and lifting free weights to workout, so he is not only the perfect RowZone client, but the perfect RowZone trainer!  

Gary B

Gary has been a member of RowZone since June 2012. The minute he finished his first class, he knew he was hooked. He has lost over 20lbs since he started and has taken more than 4 inches off of his midsection. He has been so motivated by the transformation of not only his body, but his mind, as well. So much so, that he became a certified personal trainer, as well as CPR certified for the sole purpose of becoming an instructor at Row Zone. He has a passion and enthusiasm for Row Zone because he knows what it has done for him and is excited to seeing what it can do for others.

Lindsay M

Lindsay starting rowing 11 years ago in Seattle Washington and also rowed for Stanford University all four years. Lindsay has been on five National and one Olympic team and moved to Philadelphia to continue her Olympic training with Vesper Boat Club. In addition to her own training, Lindsay loves coaching others to be the best they can be in the sport. Lindsay has coached high school and middle school rowing for 5 years and now here at RowZone. In addition to training for the Rio Olympics, Lindsay is also applying to Medical Schools. We are delighted to have Lindsay as part of our team when her schedule allows.

Stephanie H

Stephanie credits the start of her fitness career at the age of 3 when she would beg her Mom to do her VHS workout tapes with her! Stephanie took her life long passion and love for fitness and went to college for Health and Exercise Science. Stephanie is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer, TRX Suspension Trainer, Life Coach and Sports Nutritionist.

Patrick R

Coach Rufo is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), and Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator. Patrick is CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, and Functional Movement Certified Professional (FMS). He has earned his RKC Level 1 Kettlebell and SFG Level 1 Kettlebell Certifications. Coach Rufo is also a KCI Certified External Trainer, Primal Move Fundamental Instructor, Animal Flow Coach and US Rowing Level III Certified Coach. His primary goal is to promote excellence in the sport of rowing. Coach Rufo will educate and train athletes, parents, and coaches of all ages, skill levels, and experience on all aspects of physical conditioning, athletic performance, and mental preparation necessary to reach full athletic potential.

Cassandra C

Coach Cassandra Cunningham began her athletic quest at Mills High School in Millbrae, CA where she competed in cross-country and track for four years. Entering college she began her next sport in women's rowing. While at Sacramento State, Coach Cunningham earned three state championships titles as well as winning the 1995 Pacific Coast Rowing Championships in the Women's Varsity Eight. In 1996 she earned a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education. After graduation she spent three years training with the Women's U.S. Rowing National team. She is a five-time winner at the US National Elite Championships. She earned two international silver medals in the women's lightweight quad at the 1998 World Rowing Championships and the 1999 Pan American Games. After her time on the national team, Coach Cunningham earned a Master of Education in Administration at the University of Massachusetts while simultaneously coaching the school's varsity women's lightweight rowing team. She is entering her eighth summer assisting with the Women's Junior National Team. Coach Cunningham is currently coaching Radnor High School girls rowing program.
